When I think of Pierre Boulez, the feeling of gratitude outweighs that of mourning. The privilege to create a project with him at the Arnold Schönberg Center, and to perform his works together with members of the Vienna Philharmonic on two different occasions—his 80th and 85th birthday—in his presence, will forever remain a source of inspiring recollection. All of us have been affected by this truly great thinker of Modernity, and we will continue to learn from him and his work. I feel a close spiritual relationship and proximity to him, and he will definitely always remain in my heart ... P.B. forever ...
